12% Increase in Post-consumer Wood Recovery
From NTPSG (Australia): The National Timber Product Stewardship Group (NTPSG) is well on its way to achieving the goal of one million tonnes wood recovery per annum following the recording of a 12% increase in the 2006-07 financial year. The recovery of post-consumer wood is estimated at over 530,000 tonnes in 06-07 up from 474,000 when it was previously measured. » Read more

Kumpulan Pengurusan Kayu Kayan Terengganu (KPKKT) and B.K.B Hevea Products Sdn. Bhd joined the Global Forest and Trade Network (GFTN) in Malaysia, WWF’s initiative to save the world’s most valuable and threatened forests. Latest Version of HCVF Toolkit for Viet Nam
The concept of High Conservation Value Forest (HCVF) was initially developed by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). One of the ten criterion for forest certification, HCVF refers to forests that need to be appropriately managed in order to maintain or enhance the identified High Conservation Values. Such values depend on the individual characteristics of the particular area according to the social, environmental and economic impacts it has. Viet Nam's rich biodiversity offers many opportunities for HCVF identification nationwide. » Read more
