Deforestation in Peru Generates US$ 66 Million in Loss

From LivinginPeru.com: Every year 150 thousand hectares are deforested in Peru, which is an equivalent to 150 thousand Main Squares of Lima, reported Gestión. Up to date, 10 million hectares have been deforested, generating a loss up to US$ 66.1 million. The information is included in the study, “Economic Analysis of Activities that cause Deforestation in Pichis-Palcazú (Oxampampa province, Pasco region),” made by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, UNODC.
