How to Join the GFTN-Vietnam?
There are four basic steps that applicants must take together with the GFTN-Vietnam to become participants and enjoy the benefits the GFTN-Vietnam has to offer:
- Application
An organization may apply to participate in the GFTN-Vietnam by submitting a completed application. - Baseline Appraisal and Action Plan
Your field site will be visited by GFTN-Vietnam appointed assessors and your designated officer to carry out a Baseline Appraisal of your operation. At this point in time a non-disclosure agreement can be entered into to protect the applicant. Based on this visit a Baseline Appraisal Report and Action Plan will be reviewed by the Vietnam GFTN-Vietnam and an independent Peer Reviewer. The Applicant will also have to issue a Policy Statement which is a public written statement of policies and practices relevant to its operations for the promotion of responsible forestry and wood sourcing. - Approval and Agreement
The GFTN-Vietnam submits Baseline Appraisal report and Action Plan, Policy Statement and Peer Review statements to Global Forest & Trade Network (GFTN) secretariat for applicants that meet Conditions of Participation. GFTN secretariat reviews applications and prepares Approval Statement. - Monitoring and Evaluation
The participant shall provide six-monthly progress reports on action plan implementation, and permit periodic monitoring visits, inspections or data reviews for the GFTN-Vietnam for the purpose of verifying the claims made in the progress reports.
