Japan Forest & Trade Network (WWF Sanshoukai)

WWF Sanshoukai operates with the aim of promoting proper forest management and credible forest certification systems. In order to achieve the objectives, it is proactively engaged in the following activities under the close coordination among its members:

• To educate people on significance of sustainable usage of renewable forest resources.
• To promote proper forest management and credible forest certification systems.
• To study methods with which businesses/organizations engaged in production, usage, distribution and sales of forest resources or products review status of their own operations, research to identify factors that will damage forest and the other parts of the environment, and eliminate such operational aspects.
• To set numeric target for production, usage, distribution and sales of forest and products made by forest resources certified by a forest certification system which WWF Sanshoukai confirms as credible.
• To promote production, usage, distribution and sales of forest and products made by forest resources certified by a forest certification system.
