The TFF is an NGO widely supported by the tropical forest industry, environmental organizations, and educational institutions. Its objective is to support broad-based adoption of sustainable forest management practices in the tropical world through engaging the operational forest sector, be it industry or community organizations. The TFF carries out training, demonstration, and information dissemination activities in a broad range of forest management activities in response to requests and based on need. TFF's services are provided free to willing participants and cover topics including mapping, planning, reduced logging implementation, development of management systems, and forest certification. The TFT is an industry supported organisation that provides on-the-ground support to companies trying to become certified. It operates across the ASEAN region, including Indonesia.
