How to Join?

There are four basic steps that Applicants must take to become Participants and enjoy the benefits theat the GFTN-Australia has to offer:
  1. Apply – application forms can be obtained from the GFTN-Australia  Coordinator. 
  2. Submit Action Plan and Policy – The applicant will need to submit a public written statement of it’s policies and practices relevant to its operations for the promotion of responsible forestry and submit an action plan setting out time-bound progress targets to phase out unwanted timber from the supply chain and move toward gaining credible chain of custody and credible forest certification (depending on whether the applicant is a forest manager or non-forest manager).
  3. Approval and Agreement - The application is reviewed by the GFTN-Australia  coordinator and the successful applicant is invited to sign a Participation Agreement (valid for two years)
  4. Monitoring and Evaluation – The Participant shall provide a base line assessment followed by annual progress reports on action plan implementation and improvements against base line data as well as permiting periodic reviews by the GFTN-Australia for the purpose of verifying the claims made in the progress reports.
