The Forest Stewardship Council-US has presented WWF with an achievement award for its GFTN programme, recognizing the important role that GFTN has played in transforming the success of FSC in the last 20 years. The Leadership Award was presented at the annual Greenbuild International Conference in the US on 23 October, 2014.

Launched in 1991, GFTN has nearly 200 participants representing 18 per cent of the global annual trade in forest products. Ten of these companies are based in the US. WWF’s forestry and trade experts work with the companies—and they work with each other—to develop responsible sourcing policies, identify and mitigate sourcing risks, share best practices, and much more.
